A dog was left inside a hot car in downtown Riverside Wednesday morning during a major heat wave in Southern California. Two Riverside County Animal Services responded and the puppy was saved. They rushed the 2-month-old female, Misty, to their veterinary services colleagues and the dog was treated and her temperature was lowered immediately. The call came into Riverside County Animal Services at 10:27 a.m. June 21, 2017 and officers were on scene within about 10 minutes of being dispatched. Temperature initially recorded at 123 degrees inside the car. But temp reached 133 degrees in a few minutes of doing a recheck.
