In this video I get to shoot a functional replica of the S&W Mk22 Mod 0 Hush Puppy. This gun is essentially a modified model 39 Smith & Wesson in 9mm. It was adapted to use a suppressor and slide toggle lock. Coupled with a special chamber plug it allowed the gun to be carried underwater by seal teams and readied for shooting by racking the slide to eject the chamber plug. The toggle lock keeps the slide from cycling which ensures near silent operation when shooting. It also allows the user to rack the slide when away from alerted sentries.

This gun was made in very limited numbers and likely only saw use by Navy Seals and select special operations teams and possible use by the CIA in covert operations. It was replaced by the HK Mk23. Due to their limited numbers they have not appeared in any films that I can find but were featured as a (fictional) tranquilizer gun in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

This gun was hand built to the specs of the original guns with some minor modifications to improve the strength of the toggle. He has a much more in depth video about the history of the gun and the build process located here.
