Three Maremma Sheepdog puppies have been found alive in the rubble of Hotel Rigopiano, located in the mountain village of Farindola, and have been rescued by a fire brigade, Monday.
The recovery of the puppies five days after the avalanche means that there could be air pockets in the rubble, and that the some of the 23 still missing people could still be alive under the layers of snow and remains.
The three sheepdogs are the offspring of Hotel Rigopiano’s dogs, Nuvola and Lupo, and were born on December 4. The puppies have been reunited with their parents, who were rescued last Friday and have been given to a friend of the Rigopiano’s owner to take care of.
